View-Master is a brand name for a series of uniquely designed stereoscopic viewers and matching “reels”—thin cardboard discs that hold seven pairs of tiny, transparent 3D color photographs made on film.

The View-Master system debuted in 1939, just a few years after the introduction of Kodachrome color film, which made it possible to create small, high-quality color photos. In its early years, View-Master primarily featured reels showcasing travel destinations and tourist attractions, appealing to audiences of all ages. Today, however, most View-Master reels are created with children in mind.
